Help your child communicate more during everyday life

You spend far more time with your child than any Speech and Language Therapist ever will.

Hanen parent programmes are designed to help you use everyday moments – playing, mealtimes, getting dressed, going out and spending time together – to support your child’s communication development naturally.

RoseminSLT is currently accepting registrations for two small online Hanen parent programmes beginning in October 2026:

Hanen It Takes Two to Talk®

For parents of young children with language delays

It Takes Two to Talk® helps parents understand how their child communicates and learn practical ways to support language development during everyday life.

Rather than relying only on direct therapy with your child, you learn strategies that can be used again and again throughout the week.

The programme can help you become more confident in recognising your child’s communication, creating opportunities for interaction and adjusting the way you respond so that communication and language have more opportunities to develop.

October 2026 Programme

Hanen More Than Words®

For parents of young autistic children and children with social communication needs

More Than Words® is designed to help parents support their child’s social communication and interaction within everyday life.

The programme helps parents better understand how their child communicates and how their own responses, language and interaction can create more opportunities for connection and communication.

Strategies are introduced gradually and can be personalised around your child’s communication level, interests and everyday routines.

October 2026 Programme

Programme dates: 7 October 2026 – 13 January 2027

Parent group sessions:
Typically Wednesdays
1:00pm – 2:30pm UK time

Both programmes are delivered by Rosemin, a Hanen Certified Specialist Children’s Speech and Language Therapist with 16 years’ clinical experience.

Each programme will be limited to up to 4 families, allowing plenty of opportunity for discussion, individual feedback and support.

What is included?

Each family receives a structured programme combining parent learning with individualised support.

Your programme includes:

• A mandatory 1:1 pre-programme consultation before the group sessions begin
• 8 x 90-minute online parent group sessions
• 3 x individual parent-child video feedback sessions
• Individualised guidance based on your child’s communication needs
• Practical strategies to use during everyday interactions and routines
• Opportunities to ask questions and reflect on your progress
• Up to two caregivers from the same household may attend at no additional cost

That means your family receives 12 professional contacts across the programme rather than simply attending a weekly parent class.

All sessions take place online via Zoom.

Registration Deadlines

Early Bird Booking: Closes Monday 7 September 2026

Booking early secures the discounted programme rate and gives your family earlier choice of the available September pre-programme consultation appointments.

Final Registration Deadline: Closes Monday 21 September 2026

Registrations cannot be accepted after this date.

Every participating family must complete their individual pre-programme consultation before the parent group sessions begin, so a two-week preparation period is required before the October start dates.

Your Hanen Guidebook

Parents are required to obtain their own official Hanen guidebook before the programme begins.

You can purchase either the digital version directly from Hanen or order a physical copy.

If you prefer a printed copy, please order early enough for it to arrive before your programme starts.

The cost of the guidebook is not included in the RoseminSLT programme fee.

Is a Hanen programme right for my family?

You do not need to decide this alone.

Before registration is confirmed, we can discuss your child’s current communication, your priorities and whether the programme is likely to be an appropriate fit for your family.

The programme requires active parent participation. Parents should be able to attend the scheduled sessions and practise the strategies naturally with their child between sessions.

If your child requires a different form of assessment or intervention, I will let you know.

Why work with RoseminSLT?

I am a Specialist Children’s Speech and Language Therapist with 16 years’ experience, including 7 years providing high-quality online therapy in line with HCPC standards.

I am Hanen Certified in both More Than Words® and It Takes Two to Talk®, alongside training in SCERTS, Makaton and extensive professional development across paediatric speech, language and communication needs.

My approach is holistic, child- and family-centred. I want the strategies we discuss to become useful in your child’s real life – not remain something that happens only during an appointment with a therapist.
