About Me
I’m Rosemin Abdeen, an Online Specialist Speech and Language Therapist specialising in Selective Mutism and communication needs across childhood and adolescence.
I support children who find communication difficult, as well as families who are looking for clarity, reassurance and specialist guidance.
I have worked with children and families for over 15 years, and my approach is gentle, collaborative and emotionally attuned. Many families come to me after feeling stuck — concerned that referrals have stalled, unsure what their child needs or worried that their child’s voice is going unheard.
My role is to help you understand what is happening, create a plan that fits your child and support you step-by-step as they make progress.
My Experience
I have been delivering speech and language therapy for children for over 15 years, working with families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
My experience includes supporting children across mainstream schools, specialist settings, early years services and online clinical practice. I am particularly passionate about helping children with Selective Mutism make gradual, meaningful progress using structured, evidence-based approaches.
Before establishing my independent practice, I worked within NHS and private therapy services, gaining experience across a wide range of speech, language and communication needs. Over time, I became increasingly drawn to work that allows for careful assessment, flexible support, close parent collaboration and therapy that is paced around the individual child.
RoseminSLT was created so I could offer calm, ethical and evidence-based support that gives families the time, clarity and guidance they need.
My Approach
I believe children make the most meaningful progress when they feel safe, understood and supported at their own pace.
This is especially important for children who find communication emotionally demanding, including children with Selective Mutism, social communication differences, language difficulties or anxiety around speaking.
My approach is:
- gentle and child-centred
- evidence-based
- collaborative with parents and key adults
- emotionally attuned
- practical and realistic for everyday family life
I see this work as a responsibility and a trust and I aim to carry it with care, integrity and compassion.
