Liaison with other professionals
RoseminSLT works in accordance with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) ‘Working in Harmony’ guidelines.
The parent / carer is expected to be responsible for informing the independent therapist of any other professionals involved with your child.
In many cases, children that receive independent therapy may also be on the waiting list or caseload for NHS Therapy. In this instance, it is anticipated that the parent / carer will inform both the Independent Therapist and the NHS Therapist of the involvement of the other.
In order to offer the most effective service to your child it is often important for the therapist to liaise with other professionals in your child’s care for the purpose of information sharing. This may include liaising with NHS Speech and Language Therapists or other allied health professionals, education staff, your GP or other medical staff with your prior consent.
Professional registration and guidelines
RoseminSLT works according to professional guidelines set out by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP).
Safeguarding
Your therapist has got up to date enhanced DBS certification which you can view at any time.
In the event of a safeguarding concern, where your child or another person is at risk of harm, the therapist has a legal obligation to share that information with relevant professionals in line with the Safeguarding Children’s Act 2004.
Use of Video/audio recordings
Some assessments and therapy involve the use of video or audio recordings for analysis. You will be informed prior to the use of this in a session. The recordings will be temporarily stored on a secure device. Once the recording has been used as needed, it will be deleted. No copies will be retained.
Electronic Communication
Email is not a 100% secure method of communication. With your consent, it will be used for correspondence and to send letters, reports and other documents.
Documents will be password protected and saved in PDF format.
Correspondence by email to other professionals will be copied to you as necessary.
The therapist will refer to your child in emails by their initials or first name only.
